A black dragon onesie with wings? What’s not to love about modelling in that? I can hear the photographer suggesting instructions in my imagination right now. “With more growl!” she might say, “Give us a ‘rrrwwrr!’.
This shot comes from Kigurumi Shop which, for the most part, looks like much more fun than this one photograph suggests. I might even get a ‘big fat head‘ from them as a Halloween costume this year.
Their videos are also full of people larking around and seeming to be happy while wearing their floppy kigurumi suits. I think that this one particular shot didn’t quite work as either model or photographer had hoped!

What’s going on here? Aren’t these just onesies? Let’s break it down.
First up there’s the notion of ‘Kigurumi’ which I’m more familiar with in the context of ‘animegao kigurumi’ a style of cosplay that involves a full body suit including a head. However, I think Kigurumi comes from the Japanese ‘着ぐるみ’ which Google Translate tells me means ‘costume’.
