The Strange Brigade are a motley crew of 1930s extreme problem solvers. They have supernatural powers and a talent when it comes to melee and firearms.
The game is due out on August 28th from British publisher Rebellion (the same company which owns 2000 AD and Judge Dredd). The third-person shooter will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will have both single-player and multiplayer modes.
It’s not just a straight shoot ’em up. Strange Brigade has a focus on cooperation (in part inspired by Left 4 Dead) and problem-solving.
It’s not quite clear whether the game itself will have the same eccentric English 30s dialogue as the narrator in the gameplay video offers but Rebellion has been consistent in describing it as a “rip-roaring campaign” and describing the gear “awesome fantastical weaponry”.
Rebellion has an established history in computer game making and is one of Europe’s leading indie studios. They’ve done Aliens vs. Predator, Sniper Elite 4 and more recently the VR game Battlezone.
