Mutant Year Zero is a game by Paradox Entertainment. That’s the same company who own the rights to Conan the Barbarian, Mutant Chronicles and Kult. It is not Paradox Interactive the company who owns White wolf and Harebrained Schemes as that’s become independent.
The tabletop roleplaying game Mutant Year Zero, which Geek Native recommends, was developed by Free League Publishing and published by Modiphius.
So, why is Mutant Year Zero having a good year?
In December Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden will be published. Its a turn-based combat with elements of a story, stealth and exploration from Funcom.
Meanwhile, Free League and Modiphius continue to support the tabletop RPG. There are 14 downloads over at DriveThruRPG for the RPG including some bundles to get you started if you want to go all in and save some money.
The latest two new supplements were published this week.
Mutant Year Zero: The Eternal War
This Zone Compendium, number four, introduces the Eternal War as a robot on robot duel in the underground which goes on forever in a never-ending cycle.
Compendiums help GMs expand the world around the Ark. Eternal War is 33 pages long and also introduces Fort Robot, an abandoned Wild West-themed amusement park from the Old Age, the nano contaminated Northbay Nandeep 23 and the Robot Factory.
Mutant Year Zero: Hotel Imperator
[This too]
Also costing US$9.99 but a little longer at 36 pages, Hotel Imperator introduces three new areas and The Great Zone Walker.
The Great Zone Walker is a colossal machine that seems to be rumbling its way through the Zone. There are some important questions the PCs might need to answer; who controls the Walker and where is it going?
Also in this Zone Compendium is the mysterious Brain Ring that has established an HQ in the remains of Hotel Imperator, information on a nomadic tribe of mutants which travels through the Zone and The Zone Fair. If The Eternal War doesn’t put PCs off robots forever then they may be interested in the Zone Fair, another ancient amusement park but this time reopened by a robot.
