Building Tomorrow by Bruce R. Cordell and Sean K. Reynolds will be the first supplement for Monte Cook’s Numenera RPG since the release of the new core books.
You’ll have to wait until October for the full edition of Building Tomorrow to be released, but you can take a free PDF download of the preview right now.
The full Building Tomorrow supplement contains nearly 300 new numenera, threats to isolated communities that are large enough for the GM to build entire campaigns around.
There are new communities too as Numenera expands. As is Numenera’s style there’s Skyam which is an entire town that is barely larger than a speck of dirt and Kaustrin which orbits around a black hole.
Building Tomorrow preview
In the preview, there are rules for using plans that allow characters to craft new numenera objects and structures. There’s three ready-made numenera, complete with crafting level, such as mulch slugs, portable hive and philebrids.
There’s a glimpse at the Community Resources section which looks like it will contain rules for long-term opportunities in settlements in the full book. What we get from the preview are notes on additional salvage options, or, at least, a chunk of them, and a similar section of non-human followers.
Most importantly, the preview reminds you of the production value that goes into Cook’s Numenera RPG. There’s barely a page without stunning art on display in this teaser.
