J. Scott Campbell has illustrated for Wildstorm Comics and Marvel (including cover art for The Amazing Spider-Man). He co-created and wrote for the superhero team Gen and launched Danger Girl.
There has been controversy in his career too. Marvel pulled his variant cover of the first issue of The Invincible Iron Man as some readers complained it sexualised Riri Williams.
Indeed the Fairytale Fantasies collection mixes innocence with the pin-up calendars of the 1960s. Sideshow has commissioned a limited number of statues based on some of Campbell’s most iconic illustrations.
The Little Mermaid
This a limited edition (2,000 only) exclusive to Sideshow. It’s 9.5″ tall on top of the base.
Tinkerbell
This statue is even more limited (1,500 only) and equally as exclusive to Sideshow. Tinkerbell is 12″ tall with an 11″ wingspan.
Alice in Wonderland
Sideshow has not yet released numbers on Alice but he status will be limited and is more expensive than Tinkerbell hinting that there might be fewer made. This statue is 13.5″ tall on top of her mushroom.
