This contribution to the 12 Masks of Halloween series breaks the rules. Normally, for a Masks post, the goal is to find a big and bold image of the Halloween mask. After all, this is a visual thing we’re writing about and people need to see how their costume will look.
So what’s the problem with the Dragon Mascot? The retailer, Find Costume, isn’t a power player in the competitive world of online fancy dress. They have got a Yahoo-powered store and have probably been around for years. They don’t do big images.
But we do have a small image of this long-necked dragon complete with its little yellow wings.
Anyone wearing this ‘mask’ (legs, body and arms included) will immediately will their work Halloween party.
There’s some big warnings with this particular mask costume. Firstly, you aren’t going to get this in time for Halloween and it takes 4 weeks to even leave their warehouse. Once the dragon is out of the door it will only travel by ground. Imagine that; a dragon that won’t fly. As a result, this particular costume is only good for people in the Americas (although the site says it does worldwide delivery).
The intended purpose of the dragon is, of course, as a mascot. Dragons aren’t just for Halloween. Given the cost perhaps this particular mask is best suited to a gaming expo or comic con looking to have a mascot roaming the halls. I’m sure it’ll be really hot under all that material but the design notes say the head is made from latex and foam so it is as light-weight as you could hope for.
