It can’t be all that easy marketing life insurance but the team at Vantis Life are trying.
Vantis Life decided to look into the costs of life insurance for superheroes and have come up with a simple algorithm to work it out.
Batman is the most expensive with a full policy coming in at $74,000,000. That’s a monthly premium of $965,744. Spider-man has the middle position in their chart of five needing to pay a monthly premium of $585, 336 and Wonder Woman saves the most with a ‘mere’ monthly premium of $368,184.
The cost of superhero lives
How did they get to these totals? The starting point was to look at danger and the premiums of real-life workers who face it. That’s why the superhero chart includes costs for the likes of pilots and deep-sea fishers.
The baseline cost, though, was taken from the insurance premiums of roofers. They face a full policy of around $500,000 ouch!
To work out how much danger each superhero faced the Vantis Life team watched a lot movies (not the worst part of their job, I imagine) and assigned a score to four different risk factors. Each superhero was rated on the dangerous situations they were in, actual physical harm they suffered, exposure to harmful materials and then exposure to firearms. With that risk score in place the following algorithm was used;
(Super hero risk score/average person risk score) x typical policy coverage total = superhero overall policy coverage cost
