I’ve seen some amazing cartography Kickstarter campaigns, but this book of maps from Yarro Studios is the first to tempt me. Why? It looks good for the lazy/busy DM. The maps lay flat on the table so you can use them while in the book, and then you scribble or sticker them. The campaign is funding and you can follow progress here.

There’s an early bird $US35 pledge to get the book of battle maps. It’s not clear when that runs out. Perhaps it won’t as the super early birds are gone already, or maybe Yarro is toggling things by hand.
$35 looks like a great deal given the size of the map. It’s suspiciously good. However, at the time of writing, the campaign has 25 days still to run and has 844% funded. That’s right. Tanner Yarro is only asking for $10,000, and he’s raised nearly $85,000 already.
Part of the reason the money is flooding in, I think, is due to the combination of a good Facebook campaign and this image of the flat maps book seam.
The other reason why the immersive battle maps are doing so well is that they are a good idea. Despite my concerns about the low price I’m going to back the campaign. I’m in the UK, and that put on another $10 for shipping.
If you see the price go up / the early bird tiers vanish then lease let readers know via the comments below.
