Chaosium, the publisher responsible for the iconic Call of Cthulhu RPG, has today announced a partnership with Focus Home Interactive. Together the companies will work on a series of computer games based on the game. They say they’ll share more details later.
Chaosium has certainly been busy. Last year Chaosium was deep in legal dramas with the French publisher Éditions Sans-Détour who had the license for Call of Cthulhu in France, was making money on Call of Cthulhu in France, but not paying the royalty. Now they’ve scored this big (€61.1 million in assets) French publisher as a partner.
It’s worth noting that Focus Home Interactive is a publisher, not a developer. It’s got geek cred having worked on titles like the 2018 Call of Cthulhu computer game, Blood Bowl, The Surge, Vampyr and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. If you look at the developers Focus works with often you’ll see companies like Cyanide (who are working on the Paranoia CRPG), Frogwares (The Sinking City) and often with Nadeo.
Only a week ago Chaosium announced the purchase of the Kickstarter mega-success 7th Sea RPG.
