For the Dungeon! is a tabletop RPG where you play the minions in the dungeon and not the heroes. There’s no video pitch to show you as the little tabletop game doesn’t have one but it is doing well despite that, funding in hours and (at the time of writing) still with a month on the clock. You can follow progress on Kickstarter.
A pledge of $8 gets you the digital game and $16 gets you both the digital and physical copies. For the Dungeon only ships to certain countries, though.
In the game, you’re a minion with a penchant for chaos.
Right now, you can check out the quickstart for free.
Critical failures are an important part of the full game and replace experience points. When a player critically fails (their best result is a 1) then they jot down what their character learned from the encounter. That experience becomes a trait which means, when applicable, it counts as an extra d6 in scenes.
The author of For the Dungeon! goes by the name ‘Jordan’ on Kickstarter and doesn’t offer up any links to a publishing profile. Equally, the game’s artist is known just as Jared but you can see their work on Instagram and it looks great! I suppose that’s a slight concern but I can also see that Jordan’s backed 38 Kickstarters and cancelled his first attempt at running one three years ago. It does feel as if he’s part of the Kickstarter community by now.
