It’s common to find software offering to improve your D&D experience on Kickstarter. It’s harder to find those same software solutions finding success on Kickstarters. Gamers are cautious, there have been many failures, but this visual character sheet app for 5th edition called ‘Reroll’ has funded.
At the time of writing, there are still 30 days on the clock, nearly 2,000 backers and they’ve earned nearly $40,000 Singapore Dollars of the $13,544 they asked for. Also, at the time of writing, 1 Singapore Dollar is worth about 0.75 US Dollars. You can follow their progress via their campaign page.
It takes a pledge of S$11 to get going. That’s a lot for an app. However, your Reroll account is unlocked with all the armours and weapons, including exclusive animated weapons. You get a pet, another exclusive, early access and get to contribute to Team Reroll’s feedback process.
If you’re a DM and need your whole group on the system, then you can buy accounts for other people. The more you buy; the cheaper it gets. The top of that curve is six accounts for S$46.
If you have got the cash to splash you can get your favourite character commissioned.
Reroll does more than let you design your character in pixel art. You can also store character sheets with it. They’ve unlocked the stretch goal that gives each of these character sheets a URL, and this means you’ll be able to share your D&D character over Discord, Telegram or Skype.
Also unlocked are the Roll20 tokens. This addition is a handy time-saving feature, and I’m sure many gamers will appreciate the consistency.
In the future, but we don’t know how much money it’ll take in pledges, the app will offer auto-levelling and a custom marketplace.
