Facing the Titan is an RPG that does not need a Game Master or DM. It’s by Gulix, aka Nicolas Ronvel, and is the story of three to five players taking on the Titan. The Kickstarter is modest but successful, asking for €900 (about $1000 or £760) and already securing €1,500. At the time of writing, there are still 19 days to go. You can follow the progress at Kickstarter here.
A pledge of €7 is enough to get the PDF and a coupon for Print on Demand at cost. A promise of €18 gets you the PDF, the Print on Demand and a chance to get a character included in the game. Both options reach you all the unlocked stretch goals.
In Facing the Titan, the players will win. The game is a storytelling one based on MonkeyDome (PDF) which you can download for free. You will have a different group of heroes and a different titan for each adventure. What matters is how the companions defeat the Titan and at what cost.
MonkeyDome is a game by Epidiah Ravachol, the chap who designed Dread, which is a horror RPG you play with Jenga. GM-less games like Fiasco also influence Facing the Titan.
