Did the kids from the D&D cartoon series of the 1980s ever make it back home? Yes they did, according to Renault (Brazil) who have put together this surprisingly good live action.
There’s a catch…
We now see some very impressive cosplay and so to stand out the advert for the Kwid Outsider would genuinely need to nail the casting and costumes. Mission achieved!
Hank the Ranger, Eric the Cavalier, Diana the Acrobat, Presto the Magician, Sheila the Thief, Bobby the Barbarian and even Uni are spot on.
Eric is more impressive than usual, but that does fit with the character development, Bobby is still calling for Uni and well done to Presto for finally getting the magic to work. I don’t think Sheila’s cloak had ever offered intangibility before, helping her squeeze into a tight space, rather than invisibility but let’s not quibble.
The live action Dungeon Master looks a little freaky, but I suppose that makes sense and Venger is perhaps the least impressive of the bunch.
Tiamat, wow, what a dragon. You don’t need Game of Thrones to do dragons well, it seems, if only for a few seconds.
And that catch? The D&D kids are home but perhaps they now have the police to worry about…
