Geek Native has launched a Patreon today and to celeberate free mascot stickers will be sent to anyone who subscribes in the first fortnight.
Why is Geek Native now on Patreon?
The site is free to use, and unless something dramatic happens with weird laws or hosting costs, it always will be.
Some geeks prefer to support independent sites like Geek Native with subscriptions and one-off donations, and they dislike ads or anything that smells of tracking, so they run ad blockers. That’s just the way it is. Those geeks are welcome here too.
Become a Patron! There’s so much to do, so many ideas but so little time and funds to make them happen. Take a look at the Patreon goals, and you’ll see that the plan is to put subscription money straight back into the RPG community. The first goal would mean a $10 DriveThruRPG coupon up for grabs every month for all readers.
What benefits are there to joining?
Becoming a Geek Citizen will get you the vote. Votes are used each month to pick publishers for the new publisher spotlight section, to help select games to review and will give you influence on similar decisions. At the higher level, your name appears on the site, and you can supply banners and websites to feature in the daily digest newsletter.
Also, Patreon has a Special Offers feature which allows goodies and freebies to be sent to backers. The free mascot sticker gift is an example of this.
