The After has just crossed the funding line at Kickstarter. At the time of writing, there are still 18 days left to join the project, and if you’re a Savage Worlds gamer, you might well want to. You can check out the progress and more details over at the campaign page.
There’s no pitch video, which I think is a little strange as the author Jon Gibbons is a freelance illustrator. A montage of artwork would surely have been in the realms of possibility and would have helped showcase Jon’s talents.
A pledge of $12 gets you a copy of The After RPG in PDF and stretch goals, at $20 you also get an “at cost” voucher discount a Print on Demand copy of the game. There are higher tiers but don’t have global shipping associated with them.
The After uses the newly retooled Savage Worlds Adventure Edition and is set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. There’s been aliens and wars, the North American continent in broken and in the game the PCs are some of the survivors. Only those who lived out in the wilds had any chance of making it this far.
Humanity is caught in the middle of a power struggle. On one side there are the Butchers, who are masters of genetics and bio-manipulation. The Butchers harvest flesh. On the other side, are The Ghosts. These are strange entities made of energy.
The book will be 150+ pages long and full colour. It contains new Arcane Backgrounds, Edges and Hindrances and new monsters.
Jon’s art is incredible, and the limited edition posters must surely be a big draw to the Kickstarter.
