The Kickstarter for BattleTech: Clan Invasion will start on July 17th and is the first time BattleTech has been taken to the crowdfunding platform by Catalyst Game Labs.
The campaign is to remodel Clan and Inner Sphere ‘Mechs using the same processes behind the BattleTech Beginner Box and BattleTech: A Game of Armored Combat, Chaos Campaign: Succession Wars (both currently marked as sold out at Catalyst’s store). Each of the ‘Mechs has been re-imagined so that they remain true to the original concept for each but have all been updated for a more modern look.
The Clan Invasion box set adds five Clan OmniMechs, including the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat), rules for Clan technology and new maps.
Catalyst’s campaign will include stretch goals that will add more Clan and Inner Sphere ‘Mechs to the Kickstarter while the Clan Commander Star expansion will add the Dire Wolf (Daishi) and popular Shadow Cat.
Additionally, participants in the Kickstarter will have the chance to use Add-ons to secure other BattleTech merchandise such as the latest rule books, box sets and sourcebooks.
