Anit Mandal, who works for the powerhouse that is Accenture in Bangalore, has a smart way to show off his Tableau skills.
Tableau is an interactive dashboard tool recently bought by Salesforce for a whopping $15.7 billion and is typically used by businesses to dig through their internal and marketing data, presenting it back in an as clear and meaningful way as possible.
Mandal used it on Pokemon data.
Clicking on any of the dots in the Pokeball graphic highlights the Pokemon in question and reveals the type associated with it.
This is always the Pokemon’s primary type, and that is why there’s only four flying Pokemon; Tornadus, Noibat and Noivern. The other flying Pokemon have Flying as a secondary type.
If you click on the type in the bar chart on the right, then you’ll highlight all the matching Pokemon within the Pokeball.
The interactive infographic looks cool, and future improvements could include changing the best attack, defence and speed category so that also updates with type selection or the inclusion of secondary type data.
