The Origins Games Fair has finished which means we have got a new set of Origins Awards winners.
Vampire: The Masquerade, now in the hands of Modiphius Entertainment, took home Best Role-Playing Game as well as Fan Favourite.
In doing so, Vampire: The Masquerade becomes only the second RPG to win Best-Roleplaying Game twice.
The other is Dungeons & Dragons, which has won the award numerous times. D&D was the first winner, when the category was introduced, back in 1976. There was no 1977 winner but in 1984 both Twilight: 2000 and Paranoia took home the prize.
Decipher’s Lord of the Rings RPG won the award in the 2002 and last year Cubicle 7’s Adventures in Middle Earth won, but for the purpose of this analysis, we’re not counting those as the same game. Different name. Different system.
