At the time of writing, there are still 5 days for AEG’s Thunderstone Quest: New Horizons to hoover up cash from Kickstarter. They’re at 624% funded and just a few thousand short of smashing the $250,000 line. You can check out this incredibly successful Kickstarter via its campaign page.
Thunderstone Quest is a deckbuilding game for 2-4 players by default (1-6 with the Barricades expansion) in which you venture through dungeons to score victory points and win the game.
The lowest pledge tier has been taken by over 3,000 gamers, and it’ll set you back US$65. It gets you Quest 8: Vengeful Sands, Quest 9: CLockwork Destiny (that’s 490 cards so far), Ezuzrius’ Lair Promo Pack, Question 8 and 9 prestige classes but it doesn’t get you the core game. What AEG have wisely done is a promise that prices will not change due to the impact of the US/China anti-game trade war.
If you want the base game, then you can get it for $120 but that doesn’t get your Barricades Mode (with its solo play) or even New Horizons which this Kickstarter is for.
30 or so gamers have gone to the $250 pledge to get the base game, Barricades and New Horizons.
For context, the base game, Thunderstone Quest was a Kickstarter than ran in 2017 and was delivered in 2018. To the Barricades! was produced in 2019 and introduced solo and coop play. These Kickstarters are coming out fast, and it looks like AEG are onto a winner here.
