Harry Potter: Death Eaters Rising is a cooperative card and dice game based on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Designed by Pat Marino, the lead game designer at USApoly, players assemble teams of witches and wizards to fight back against the growing resistance from the Dark Lord and those loyal to him.
The key characters that players build teams around are Harry Potter, Hermione Granger to represent Dumbledore’s army, Minerva McGonagall or Albus Dumbledore to present the force of Hogwarts, and finally Nymphadora Tonks or Sirius Black from the Order of the Phoenix.
Harry Potter characters that can be recruited include Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Alastor Moody, Mrs Norris, Severus Snape and Rubeus Hagrid.
The villains that the cooperative teams will have to face include Peter Pettigrew, Bellatrix Lestrange and Lucius Malfoy as well as others. Control is fought over locations like the Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley and the Hogsmede Village.
Success comes when the Death Eaters are vanquished, and Voldemort confronted.
It’s a game due ages 11 and up, requiring 45 to 60 minutes to play and between 2 to 4 players.
This is the third Harry Potter game from The Op this year with Scrabble: World of Harry Potter and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle both already readily available in stores.
