Dream Realm Storytellers are a young publishing company going places. They did Svilland and its Kickstarter right, putting together a good looking and grim Norse fantasy game and waiting until the PDFs were out before starting their next Kickstarter.
However, their current Kickstarter project, playing cards designed to help inspire horror RPGs and stories, is ambitious. I recall similar Kickstarter efforts, but I don’t recall any runaway successes and Dream Realm are looking for £7, 500.
The campaign has just launched, there’s £777 pledge right now and 28 days to go. You can follow progress yourself at the crowdfunding page.
Here’s the thing. I believe Dream Realm Storytellers can do it. They’ve the oomph, and they clearly think about the art and science of weaving stories.
Let’s look at the money. A pledge of £12 gets you the cards in PDF, and you need to leap up to £28 to get the 90 cards on paper. The only way you can go higher is to go much higher and get dozens of decks – this is only an attractive option if you’re a game shop and you think you can sell a lot of horror accessories.
