Holyxseis, the Etsy boutique behind these ability score shot glasses are having a flash sale. 40% off today and, I think Sunday too.
The discounted items here and it’s the entire range of digital downloads. Sadly, not those smart shot glasses.
I did spot this controversial and conversation-starting idea, though. A punishment chart for players who get too distracted by their phone.
Holyxseis writes;
“So, what would you like to do?”
“Um…I’m so sorry, what?”
“I said, what would you like to do?”
“Oh. Uh, what’s going on? Sorry, I was checking Facebook.”
I can’t say that’s a problem at any of my gaming tables. In most games, we use smartphones to keep notes. I’m sure social media happens but generally only when the party has split, and the spotlight of decision making isn’t shining on every player.
As a player, I’d be pretty annoyed if my character wasn’t getting the support they needed, at a crucial time, because someone else was goofing off on Facebook. As a DM, I’d be livid.
But would I smack them with Holyxseis’s “Phones Down, Dice Up!” chart? I’m not sure.
The chart is now only a couple of dollars. Perhaps the sight of it alone will scare badly-behaved players into putting their phone away? You can download it from here.
What do you think? Is a punishment chart for in-game Facebook use a good idea?
