The SDCC trailer for Watchman adds to the teaser we’ve already had, layering on character information and showing more of the world.
This is an alternative history of Earth in which the cops have started to hide their faces for protection, and other masked vigilantes are banned.
The official description of the show includes this line;
Watchmen is based on the graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
Alan Moore, as is his style, has had his name removed from the project.
This version comes from Damon Lindelof who co-created Lost, co-write Cowboys & Aliens (the film), Star Trek Into Darkness and Tomorrowland.
The cast list looks vast and impressive, including Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk.
