There’s just the suggestion in Marc Tassin’s Kickstarter pitch for World of Aetaltis that he’s not all that thrilled with some of the twists and turns some D&D 5e settings have taken. At the heart of the World of Aetaltis is a 5e setting that goes all-in on the heroic fantasy.
He asked for $15,000, and with 18 days still to go, at the time of writing, he’s secured $16,600+. This Kickstarter is funding, and you can follow its progress on the campaign page.
Not only is this campaign doing well and unlocking published stretch goals, but it is also starting to open “secret stretch goals”. The latest of which is PDF form-fillable character sheets.
It takes a pledge of $35 before you can pick up any deliverables from the campaign, but at that level, you get at least four different books. There’s the Adventurer’s Guide, the Player’s Guide, the Gamemaster’s Guide and The Forgotten Gate Adventure plus all the PDF books unlocked in stretch goals.
$75 will get you those books, except the Forgotten Gate Adventure, as hardcovers as extras. The next tier up is $150, and that will get you hard or softcover of all the books coming from this ambitious Kickstarter.
The World of Aetaltis
This is a fantasy world in which the darkness is only just beginning to wake up, and adventurers are heading down to meet it below the Earth.
In the game, dwarves are locked in a brutal guerrilla war to retake their homeland, humans are leading an alliance of races and magic is terrifying. There are feline-barbarians, fey spirits entwined with magic and ten-foot tall orog mercenaries that wrestle with corruption.
The estimated delivery date for the project is May 2020.
