White Wolf and Paradox Interactive have found another publisher to join the busy release schedule for the World of Darkness.
Vampire: The Masquerade – The Expandable Card Game is due 2020, and it’s being made by Renegade Game Studios.
The game will have players involved in the politics and intrigue of the Kindred society while staying true to Vampire’s darkness and reflecting the constant hunger of The Beast.
Renegade Game Studios President and Publisher, Scott Gaeta, told press;
Vampire: The Masquerade revolutionized the landscape of tabletop games,”
We’re excited to create a new game that explores the beauty, conflict, and horror of the World of Darkness for tabletop gamers.”
Details about the game are yet to be revealed. Jason Carl, World of Darkness Brand Marketing Manager, added;
Renegade Game Studios is well known for its innovative game design and high quality standards”
They are the perfect partner to bring Vampire: The Masquerade into this format. We are thrilled to be working with this award-winning team, and we know our Vampire community is going to be as excited for this new game as we are!”
This year Vampire: The Masquerade became only the second RPG to win Origins Award twice, after Dungeons & Dragons.
That victory comes after a turbulent period for the game. Fans fought over the appropriateness of the ‘edgy darkness’ in the horror RPG. Owners, Paradox Interactive, ended up moving the RPG to Modiphius Entertainment to develop further.
Steffie De Vaan has been appointed the lead developer, by Modiphius, for their first official Chronicle for Vampire The Fall of London.
Renegade Game Studios picked up Gold at the 2019 Ennies for Kids on Bikes in the Best Family Game section.
