The minimum bid was $25,000 for this rare collection of Pokemon cards. A complete set of 103 1999 Pokemon 1st, non-sports, edition in GEM MT 10 by PSA standard was up as a lot at Goldin Auctions.
In the collection was the rarest and most desirable single card of them all – the 1st edition Charizard. Charizard has sold for over $30,000.
It was a complete collection, though, not just a single card. What an impressive collection it was with included holographic Alakazam, Blastoise and Chansey cards.
There are less than 50 cards of some of the Pokemon in this set. It’s unknown how many have been preserved at this level of perfection.
A similar set of 103 1999 cards sold for nearly $100, 000 at Goldin in December’s 2017 sale. This set went for $107, 010. There were 12 bids.
