How many GMs buy the same adventure twice? Once to read it and then again on a virtual tabletop to run it?
The new partnership between Roll20 and Paizo seems to be trying to put an end to that sort of awkward clumsiness in the new online ecosystem building around tabletop roleplaying games.
The Fall of Plaguestone is for P2 (Pathfinder 2nd edition). It’s written by Paizo’s Jason Bulmahn, and you can buy it already at Amazon or from Paizo’s own store.
If you’ve bought it at Paizo and have linked your Paizo account with your Roll20 account, then you only need to pay the difference to get the extra Roll20 features. If you’ve bought it at Roll20, which you can do today, then you’ll get the whole thing for free as a PDF from Paizo.
The adventure is suitable for 1st level heroes (and comes with 12 pre-generated character sheets) and is designed to be a good onboarding adventure for people coming new to P2.
You can check it out at Roll20’s store.
The Roll20 version has all 32 NPCs integrated into the virtual tabletop’s character sheets and click-to-roll actions. This should save you a heap of time.
As you’d expect it comes with the 6 maps already loaded into Roll20 and if you have either Plus or a Pro account then those maps will have dynamic lighting. The 16 new magic items the game introduces are also in Roll20.
There is an exclusive for Roll20 users as well. There’s a bonus “Roadside Ambush” map and tile pack that’s been produced by David Hemenway. Hemenway is known for making detailed maps.
