“How do I prove I’m up to bestowing ungodly power on a hapless mortal if I can’t even fill in the online profile right?” asks patron Ulgroth the Unfettered.
Pactless Patrons: A Support Group is an animated comedy about supernatural powers that haven’t managed to find a Warlock to empower yet. The Kickstarter had a goal of $6,000 and, at the time of writing, there are still 10 days of pledging to go, and the $6,000 mark has been crossed. You can follow the progress at the campaign page.
This YouTube comedy is by roleplayers for roleplayers. While the theme is about the supernatural and god-like being looking for minions (or some other relationship), it’ll also explore insecurities and relationship hangups.
The assumption is the finished animation will be free to watch on YouTube as other videos are. So what’s in it for backers?
A pledge of $1 gets your name in the credits. Find $10, and you’ll get that, ringtones and character wallpapers. Add another $10, and Pactless Patrons will add in the script.
One backer has even pledged $1,000 leaving only some slots available at the highest tier. They’re going to get a cameo on the show, and an in-character shout out plus a host of goodies.
If Pactless Patrons hits $8,000 in the last few days, then they’ll be able to afford a dedicated video editor.
