Jack Norris is stepping down of the RPG system that powers games such as Dragon Age, Blue Rose, Midgard from Kobold Press and the game Wil Wheaton is currently suing Geek & Sundry over, Titansgrave.
In a blog post on Green Ronin, Norris makes brief mention of personal tragedy, heavy workloads, financial and health issues as well as the occasional resurfacing of past harassment.
He’s not leaving the industry and will continue with his Tianxia books and John Carter of Mars RPG.
Owen K.C. Stephens will pick the reigns in October. Stephens might be best known for his full-time role at Paizo Publishing where he was the lead designer for Starfinder. He left Paizo in July, moving to Indiana with his wife who had secured a job at Lone Wolf Development.
This isn’t his first time working with Green Ronin, in fact officially been an advisor for Green Ronin for years, while also being a developer for Rite Publishing and running Rogue Genius Games himself.
On Twitter, he guessed that the fact he would be picking up Fantasy Age might surprise people. He has more recently been working on Green Ronin’s Freeport Pathfinder titles.
Update: This post has been corrected to show that Owen K.C. Stephens left Paizo in July.
