Helmgast AB are the Swedish publishers behind games like the sinister and adult Kult. The RPG they’ve just announced is very different and channels the Franco-Belgian style of comics that many people associate with The Adventures of Tintin.
The Troubleshooters core rulebook is written by Krister Sundelin, author of the acclaimed Swedish roleplaying games “Järn” and “Hjältarnas tid”, and it is planned for release in the summer of 2020. First, though, Helmgast will run a Kickstarter in this coming winter to secure funds.
In the game, characters range from athletes, mad scientists, explorers and even journalists who find themselves travelling the world to solve mysteries and generally help people out. These groups of helpful troubleshooters will find themselves crossing the globe, facing down spies, wild beasts, criminals and even the secret Octopus organisation led by the evil graf von Zadrith.
There are a site and blog at TroubleshootersRPG.com and a Facebook Page for the latest news.
