Mike Lafferty of Fainting Goat Games is a good guy. I’ve watched him put charity bundles together a few times now. He wastes no time, doesn’t make the project about himself and doesn’t pester people.
The result? Bigger and better charity bundles. Lafferty is a man with his finger on the karmic scales.
Here in the UK news of Hurricane Dorian got TV coverage, so you know it was a big storm (incidents with Sharpies, aside) and the Bahamas got badly hit.
One of the active charities helping survivors is the American Red Cross and its this organisation who are benefiting from all proceeds from the bundle.
There’s a superhero theme to the front cover of the bundle. That’s appropriate because everyone helping out in the relief effort, in some way, is a hero of a kind too. There might be a second reason too, Fainting Goat Games is a publisher I associate with superhero games. They did take part in Geek Native’s Superhero Week this year with a preview of the Super Villain Handbook.
The bundle will be available until the end of the month.
You can pick the charity bundle for $25 and get more than $200 worth of RPGs, supplements and accessories.
Companies taking part in the bundle
The way Mike built the bundle was simple. He put in a dummy product (which he called the ‘anchor point’) and charged $25 for it. Everyone else then contributed their own hard work for free.
