Sea of Thieves is an open-world nautical multiplayer adventure from Microsoft. In the computer game, the goal is to find treasure on your explorations while avoiding rival pirate crews attacking your ship and taking your loot.
Earlier this year, British RPG studio Mongoose Publishing announced they had a license to turn the MMO into a tabletop RPG and that the boxset would cost around £60.
The first production copy of that box set has now come back from the printers. These sets are expected to ship to pre-order customers in the second week of November.
Mongoose essentially put together an unboxing video as a way to let customers see what the £60 box contains. The map, in particular, stands out for its sheer size.
The box contains the Book of Pirates, which is an introduction to the game, the Lore of the Seas which is a GM’s guide and the Book of Voyages which is a campaign to get you started.
There’s a poster-sized map, large enough to show every island in the game, six pirate ledgers, 18 dice and tokens.
The download mentioned in the video is “Lord Guardian Sails” which unlocks the exclusive sail design for the would-be pirate king in the Sea of Thieves video game world.
