Free League Publishing’s RPG based on Simon Stålenhag’s fantastic 1980s sci-fi suburbia is free to download from DriveThruRPG, and will be until Friday the 11th.
You can grab Tales from the Loop here.
If you’re not familiar with the work of Stålenhag’s then I think this fan-made animation of The Electric State is a good way to get to know it.
The Tales from the Loop game was a big hit in 2017, taking home Best Game, Best Setting, Best Writing and Product of the Year at the ENnies. Players take on the old of kids (on bikes) exploring the sometimes surreal and sometimes robotic world around them. If you’re thinking of Stranger Things without the horror, then that’s about right.
Earlier this year, the sequel RPG Things from the Flood was released. In the follow on, characters are a little older, and the world is a little less shiny.
