Grant Ellis, Samantha Darcy and Matteo Marjoram have a project on Kickstarter called GrymmWorld. The game is a dark fairy tale of a campaign setting that uses re-vamped and unusual twists for 5e rules.
The campaign is doing well. At the time of writing, there are 20 days still to get involved and funding goal as been met. More than 500 backers have pledged nearly $20,000. You can follow progress on Kickstarter.
A goal of GrymmWorld is to get players and DMs to collaborate on the story. To help achieve this, designer Grant Ellis has introduced the ‘Narrador’.
The Narrador is a particular NPC that pushes characters to be interesting. Sometimes this is helpful, sometimes it is not helpful for those characters as they attempt to survive the dark fairytale setting.
A pledge of $15 (about £12) will get you the PDF of the game. Jump up to $44, and you’ll get a hardcover copy and the PDF. The number of gamers is currently split about 50/50 between digital-only and hardcover. However, another chunk of supports has gone higher still, pledging $100 to get the signed deluxe print version.
