Battlefield Press are using Savage Worlds to tell a story of giant monsters fighting cold war era action scientists. They’re asking for $25,000 to make this happen, and there are still 23 days, at the time of writing, to get involved. You can find the Kickstarter campaign page here.
$25,000 seems like a relatively high target for a Kickstarter pitch that can’t show any art and which is using a pre-established set of rules, but the team of Jess Nevins and Darren Watts know their stuff. Jess Nevins has been published before, and Watts is the former co-owner of Hero Games and Indie Press Revolution.
A pledge of $20 will get you a PDF copy of the campaign setting. The next step up us $45 and that’s enough for the hardcover.
In Explorers of the Fantastic the Allied bombing of Ninoshima island in 1945 opens up a rift into the Hollow Earth, and it is through the vent that giant monsters emerge.
The group that fights against these beasts are known as the Explorers of the Fantastic.
On top of that, it’s the cold war. Neither China nor the KGB stands with the Explorers. Mad Scientists create their own monsters, and illegal technology sneaks its way into the black market.
The rules, powered by Savage Worlds, help you create your own action scientists, create your own giant monsters and new science vehicles.
