The best selling family RPG of 2018 was Martin Lloyd’s Amazing Tales.
The game is an Adamantine Best Seller at DriveThruRPG which puts in an elite few and is recommended by Cory Doctorow. It’s no surprise, then, to find it being picked up around the world and translated into different languages.
What’s a little more surprising is the route Amazing Tales is taking.
Poland: Amazing Tales
In Poland, for example, it’s a well-known blogger who is publishing the book. Kamil Novak is better known as the blog father who writes about parenting. In fact, Amazing Tales will be published by Book Ojciec along with the best-selling Polish book “The Perfect Parent Doesn’t Exist”.
Brazil: Amazing Tales
Meanwhile, in Brazil, it will be another new publisher who has adopted Amazing Tales. Editoria C.H.A. will be devoted to new, alternative stories, and Amazing Tales will be released along with an anti-racist comic called “Black Soon, Resist”.
The path in Italy is a little more familiar. Dreamlord Games are planning a 2020 release for an Italian version of Amazing Tales. Lloyd’s game will, therefore, join Italian editions of FATE and the Conan themed “On Mighty Thews”.
