On Reddit, Venatus Maps showed off this impressive dragon skull lair entrance map.
The area outside the dragon skull is gridded as this is a battle map for tabletop RPGs like D&D and Pathfinder.
It’s not a surprise to see that Venatus’s Patreon is hugely popular. At the time of writing, there are over 900 subscribers which means that account is taking in about $1,250 for each map produced.
There are three tiers; $1 per map, $3 per map and $5 per map but some confusion on how these work.
One reader asked;
I’m confused by your patreon it says X per map. There appears to be hundreds of maps so if I donate 5 dollars will I get like a 5k bill or what?
To which Venatus replied;
You just pay for the maps released AFTER you sign up, not for the maps released previously. You’ll get instant access to everything I’ve released for the last 2 years, your support goes towards future content.
Elsewhere, Venatus explained the model;
I release 5 maps every month! The base level gets access to every map, the $3 tier gets PSD files, and the $5 tier gets a personalized map after a few months.
So a $1 supporting offer results in about $5 a month payment as there will be five maps a month, your support keeps your access to the growing backlog.
On the other end of the scale, $5 means paying $25 a month but getting a personalised map of your own after a few months membership.
