Media personality and voice actor Elle Osili-Wood has organized a competition to encourage people to vote in the General Election, in the UK, on the 12th of December.
The competition is party neutral. You can vote any way you like.
This blogger hopes that you vote with your conscience. The site Vote for Policies.org.uk is one way to try and see which of the political options is the best fit for what you think will make the world a better place.
You can read the Gamechanger Giveaway Terms & Conditions on a shared Google Doc that’s been circulated with the news.
To enter the competition, you need to take a selfie outside the polling station after your vote and use the #GamechangersGiveaway hashtag.
Update: We’re now being asked to retweet this tweet with the selfie in order to enter.
Geek Native has chosen to emphasis the word ‘outside’ as you may get in trouble for taking photographs inside the polling station. I’ve also added the use of the hashtag, I believe that’s implied, but don’t see where it’s stated anywhere. Without the hashtag, though, how will your competition entry be found?
Elle Osili-Wood told press;
It’s never been more important to vote – it’s time to step up and be a gamechanger,”
With 85% of UK adults under 35 regularly playing video games, gamers are a significant demographic in the upcoming election, so I’m thrilled to see the games industry come together to get out the vote.”
Gamechangers Giveaway is now supported by AAA studios like Bethesda, Activision, and Ubisoft. Indie studios like Raw Fury, Frontier, and Spilt Milk. Tellingly, perhaps, game-centric PR agencies are also involved, including Indigo Pearl, Dead Good Media, and Renaissance PR.
It’s not clear who’s donated D&D’s Descent Into Avernus but well done to whoever it was.
