Rebellion publishes computer games and owns the comic book 2000 AD that Judge Dredd appears in.
If they want to do a transmedia project by launching a comic book in support of a computer game, they’re in an excellent place to do it.
Chris Robertson will pen Last Sites, a crossover between comics and video games, which will debut in Judge Dredd Megazine #416 in January. The latest Zombie Army computer game, Zombie Army 4: Dead War goes on sale in February.
The five-part series will tell the story of a squad of deadhunters led by Efram Schweiger, and it’ll include characters from the computer game.
Robertson co-created and wrote iZOMBIE, the Vertigo published horror comic book that inspired CW show staring Rose McIver.
Last Rites will feature Marie Chevalier (from Zombie Army Trilogy), engineer Shola (from Zombie Army 4), and new characters Sikh Regiment Major Haripal Singh and former SOE operative Reginald Patterson.
Led by Schweiger, the deadhunters are in France at the end of World War Two and the death of Hilter. They begin an operation to clear out the last of the zombies from the country only to encounter a new threat.
Andrea Mutti will illustrate the series.
