GMDK is a tabletop RPG publisher with a mission to challenge mainstream. As a result, their PDFs are known for ease of use and accessbility. Libreté has already found success, in France, and now Kickstarter isn’t just taking the RPG international, Fiona Geist and Jarret Crader of Mothership, Ultraviolent Grasslands et al are re-working.
There are two weeks left to back the project, GMDK asked for $7,500, and there’s currently $9,550+ in the pledge pool. You can jump in at the campaign page.
Libreté is a Powered By the Apocalypse RPG with new mechanics, the most significant of which is Bile. Bile measures your character’s susceptibility to the dark instincts that haunt us all.
The game is set in The City. It always rains, and there are no adults; they are all gone. The remaining kids struggle to survive, there are gangs and the Sirens of the Storm that lurk in the water.
Libreté is already written, and most backers will get a text copy of the game right after pledging. The formated and art enhanced PDF and books come later.
A pledge of US$12 will get you that raw text access and a PDF, $20 gets you that plus a PDF of the adventure Fleur Du Mall and if you want a print copy then step up to $30.
I’m tempted to pay $60 for the hardcopy of Libreté. I’ll have to make my mind up quickly because, at the time of writing, there are only 9 left of the 100 Kickstarter exclusives.
