Veteran game designer Al Seeger has launched his first Kickstarter this week with a $1,000 campaign to fund Strange Things Afoot role-playing game.
The premises is straight forward; all those creepy stories on the internet are true. The player characters have to do something about that. You can check out the details or pledge some cash at the campaign page.
There are two free to download adventures for Strange Things Afoot you can grab today and get a measure of Point of Insanity Game Studio’s production values and style. There’s The Tunnel and The Yellow Maze.
In the game, which was once referred to as ‘Scary Spaghetti’ before a post-launch re-brand, you’ll be playing a mature teenager. You know; the precisely the sort of age bracket that a late-night TV series or mild horror movie would cast the heroes as.
The enemies are Tulpas. These are supernatural creatures that need the proxy of human belief to manifest in this world and manipulate humanity.
Strange Things Afoot RPG has a straight forward pledge system. US$8 will get you the PDF of the finished game. If you’re in the States, then you can double-up to $16 and add in the black and white print copy of the game too.
Disclaimer: Please note that in the past Al Seeger has contributed to Geek Native. The site is not involved in Strange Things Afoot in any way. Will I try and get Al to write something again? Absolutely!
