Following on from Monsters of Feyland, which raised CA$ 34,169 and Monsters of the Underworld, which raised CA$ 46,303, Cawood Publishing have now launched the Kickstarter for Monsters of the City.
The book introduces a city with 7 districts each with two legendary monsters in it. One of the monsters represents sin and the other virtue. Curious? You can find out more over at the campaign page
In total, there are 100 new D&D 5th edition monsters in the 130-paged (ish) book. There’s encounter tables, adventure hooks, help for Dungeon Masters and location tables, CR tables, creature type tables and that sort of thing.
The artwork looks impressive. Eisner-nominated Travis Hanson is responsible for that and worked on the first two books in the series.
There’s a free to download preview of one of the seven districts. You can grab the 22-page PDF straight from Cawood and check out 15 new monsters.
It takes a pledge of CA$ 20 to get the PDF copy of the finished book, and that’ll be available in November if all things go well.
The physical book is due to be released at the same time, and that’s a pledge of CA$37.
If you want to catch up with the previous two books in the series then Kickstarter allows that; CA$45 to get all three PDFs and CA$150 for physical copies of all three.
