Games Workshop announced their own animated series for Warhammer 40K back in 2018. It was supposed to be out last year.
We were reminded of the Angels of Death series last week when Games Workshop blogged about idents and made a weird announcement about a new show. Now we have an actual trailer for the Angels of Death.
Angels of Death will follow the Blood Angels and… well, the rest is inferred from the trailer. It looks like there is ship to ship combat, dangerous close-quarters firefights and Genestealer cults. Who are the false angels?
Blood Angels are space marines and a dying chapter. Each year, their numbers are depleted by a genetic flaw known as the “Red Thirst”. It drives marines to desire the blood of their enemies, a vampiric hunger for those responsible for the death of Primarch Sanguinius.
Some Blood Angels also fall to the Black Rage, a genetic memory that can send them into a mad rage.
There’s even a successor chapter of Blood Angels known as Death Angels that are rumoured to be especially violent and brutal.
While Angels of Death is an official Games Workshop production, it is being made by the same people behind Helsreach.
