Geek Native covered the launch of veteran game designer Al Seeger’s Strange Things Afoot Kickstarter last week.
It’s an urban horror game in which things you read about on the internet are true. Those creepypasta memes, viral hoaxes and skilfully executed pranks become real because dangerous creatures know as Tulpas turn that belief into energy.
Al’s very kindly given Geek Native a sneak peek at the character generation rules for Strange Things Afoot.

Those 53-pages are not finished, not final and subject to quite a bit of change, but they should give you a good idea of the flavour of this spooky RPG.
While the quick start is titled Character Generation, there’s more than chargen in it. We have got a section on skills and even on combat. There’s enough to run a Strange Things Afoot one-off, even if it’ll be somewhat limited without Tupla stats.
Accompanying the quick start is a sample character sheet for the game too.

At the time of writing, there are still two weeks left on the Kickstarter campaign, and it is slowly edging closer towards that $1,000 goal.
