Free League Publishing has today released the next part of the Chronicle of the Crown of Thorns campaign for their award-winning Symbaroum RPG.
While there are prequels to this adventure, Free League also claim that Symbar – Mother of Darkness is a good starting point for players new to Symbaroum.
Martin Grip was the lead artist on the project. Grip is now perhaps best known for his work on the official Alien RPG.
Symbaroum itself is a dark and deadly fantasy RPG. Geek Native published an early review of the Swedish RPG, with Paul Baldowski describing it;
Symbaroum presents a dark and gloom-riddled world of adventure and intrigue, charting but a fraction of a wider fantasy world. Akin to the likes of Warhammer Fantasy, Shadows of Esteren and Dragon Age, this is not the high fantasy of Tolkien, Brooks, Edding or Moorcock. Ambria and Davokar hold little hope, except a tale of struggle that might promise fortune to but a scattered few.
The campaign book isn’t the only new Symbaroum release from Free League Publishing today. The 80-paged softcover Journey to the temple of Exaltation is also available from their webstore as are the Davokar Gamemaster Screen and the Davokar & Symbar Hexagon Map.
You can pick up Symbar directly from Free League today and in retailers shortly.
