Vorpal Board is a Kickstarter project that gives you the software and tech required to bring your internet friends to the table for board games.
And D&D!
The kit is a towering arm to attach to your table and hold a smartphone over the playing area so others can see as well as a box to put another smartphone in so you can quickly scan playing cards for the internet to see.
Sound ambitious? The project has funded, smashing through the US$20,000 goal with over $35,000 in pledges in the opening week. You can join in or discover more at the Kickstarter campaign page.
There’s no mucking around with the pledge levels. You’re in or your in for life. The $75 pledge gets you the mounting arm, scanning box and two months of subscription to the service. $225 gets you that and a lifetime subscription.
At the time of writing, backers are split nearly 50/50 between the two tiers but the lifetime deal is just edging ahead. Vorpal says the Kickstarter will be the only time the deal is made available.
Oh, and does anyone else think they remembered D&D after the video was made?
Is that the end of the story? Community contributions can be found in the comment section at the end of the page.
