Mentions of Vampire: the Masquerade in 2020 might make you think of the turbulent history of Vampire 5th edition.
The gaming company Paradox bought White Wolf, the World of Darkness license and got to work making highly anticipated computer games. White Wolf has also been busy striking licensing deals. The hardback of the roleplaying game, however, has had a rockier ride. Some gamers thought White Wolf got the ‘edginess’ wrong and after much drama, Modiphius was given the Vampire: the Masquerade license.
Modiphius isn’t the only company with hardback copies of Vampire: the Masquerade to sell, though. A company called By Night Studios does too.
By Night Studios has the license for the Mind’s Eye Theatre version of Vampire. That’s the live-action game.
There’s a deluxe edition of Vampire: the Masquerade – Mind’s Eye Theatre that By Night Studios has announced is on the verge of selling out. There will be no re-prints.
The deluxe edition is printed on black leatherette covers and is full of unique art from Tim Bradstreet. It features 13 Great Clans from V20 and comes with a Camarilla Sect pin.
I don’t imagine there are that many copies of this deluxe edition in the wild and that we’re looking at a rare and luxury version of Vampire on the verge of becoming a much more significant collector’s item. The non-deluxe version is currently on eBay for just over $75. The deluxe edition is reduced from $140 to $120 in the By Night Studios’ store.
