7th Aeon is a short animation from Mads Broni and Salla Lehmus. Are we now in a world of joyless gratification?

There are loads of cyberpunk aesthetics in this story, purples and neons illuminated a word emprisoned by towering fortress apartments and populated by ronin civilians.

In 7th Aeron the people are masked. The faceless drones of the future a throwback to masquerade balls of warring renaissance families and even to earlier rituals held between towering fortresses of stone circles.

The world has advanced and gone nowhere. Narrated by Gillian Burke, we listen to something – technology, perhaps, an AI, who isn’t impressed by her creators. She’s as trapped as us, and while she wants to break free, she’s unable to do so. Only we can improve life, not that we want too.
