USAopoly has announced a Critical Role version of Munchkin. It’ll be a Wildemount themed deck.
There will be 6 playable character role cards, 168 door and treasure cards, 6 plastic trackers, 1d20 and rules.
Critical Role and USApoly are keeping their cards close to their chest so we don’t know which character classes those might be or what many of the foes might be.
Ben Van Der Fluit, Vice President of Business Development for Critical Role (how’s that for a job title) told press;
We’re thrilled to see the world and characters of the Mighty Nein come to life in card game form with Munchkin, and we can’t wait to share it with the Critters. We wouldn’t be here today without them,”
In Munchkin, players kick down doors, defeat the monster and take the loot. If necessary; betray friends on the way and hit level 10 first. I always end up with a chicken on my head.
It’s a Steve Jackson Games product, but USAopoly has a long-standing publisher with them. In the past, the two have produced games like a Harry Potter Munchkin, Marvel Munchkin, Rick and Morty Munchkin and even a DuckTales Munchkin. No, really.
Phil Reed, CEO of Steve Jackson Games, was included in the press release and said;
Fast-playing and silly, Munchkin appeals to a very wide audience,” ”
In this version of Munchkin, fans will compete to grab magic and kill monsters specific to Critical Role, such as Lorenzo and Avantika.”
