The virtual tabletop Astral is free to play but to access the extra features you do need to pay.
Managing the Covid-19 outbreak is tricky for companies, many of whom are suffering terribly, but none want to be seen to be making a profit from people dying.
Astral are walking that line by making their Pro account free until the end of April. To show this isn’t a marketing stunt, but an attempt to help use roleplaying to encourage people to stay at home, they’re giving two months of credit to users who already have a Pro account.
In other words, unless there’s a dramatic uptick in subscribers, Astral won’t make a penny.
The idea is that you can use this virtual tabletop to continue roleplaying while cutting out the infection-possible face-to-face meatspace meet-ups of the hobby.
